Branches of the scheduled banks in the readymade garments industrial areas will remain open in March 28-29 to facilitate payment of garment workers鈥� salary, Eid聽bonus, allowances and export-import activities.
The Bangladesh Bank on Monday gave the directive to the scheduled banks through a circular.
The central bank has asked banks to continue operation before Eid-ul-Fitr in the branches located near聽garments industrial areas in Dhaka city, Ashulia, Tongi, Gazipur, Savar, Bhaluka, Narayanganj and聽Chattogram ensuring adequate security.
Clients will be able to do banking from 10:00am to 12:00pm on March 28 and 10:00am to 1:00pm on March 29.聽
But, banks will remain open from 10:00am and 3:00pm on March 28 and 10:00am to 2:00pm on March 29.
