Squash players from Independent University, Bangladesh have secured two Championship and three runners-up titles in the recently concluded 2nd Inter-University Squash Tournament 2025, organised by the Bangladesh Squash Rackets Federation and sponsored by Mark鈥檚 at the Army Squash Court in Dhaka on July 4, 2025.聽
Marjan Akter Monika, Squash Coach at IUB, won the Championship title in the Female Plate Group and received a coaching certificate for preparing the IUB team within 12 days.聽
In the Female Elite Group, Riazul Zannat Urdho from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering became Champion, and Joti Rani Roy from the Department of Accounting emerged as the Runner-up.
In the Men鈥檚 Elite Group, Md Raihan from the Department of Management Information Systems secured the Runner-up position. In the Men鈥檚 Plate Group, Md Mahmud Mubin from the Department of General Management also became runners-up.
IUB was represented by a total of 12 players including nine male and three female players. The finals of all the four male and female categories featured at least one IUB player.聽
This was IUB鈥檚 second appearance in the tournament and its highest overall medal tally to date, with five total recognitions. Winners received medals and certificates.
The tournament featured a total of 30 male and 10 female players from 10 universities, including IUB, University of Dhaka, University of Chittagong, United International University, Military Institute of Science and Technology, Bangladesh University of Professionals, East West University, American International University-Bangladesh, and Jagannath University.
