Bangladesh Postal Department’s digital financial service Nagad has reached a new height for the highest monthly transaction volume in the recently concluded month of October, says a press release.

During the month, the MFS operator processed transactions to the tune of over BDT 34,705 crore. On this remarkable achievement, Nagad authorities have extended heartfelt congratulations to their large family of several crore registered customers.

From the onset, Nagad has rapidly established itself as one of the most popular and trusted mobile financial services in Bangladesh. Over time, both its customer base and transaction volume have grown significantly.

In continuation of this growth trend, Nagad has now surpassed all its previous records with this new monthly high. Earlier in March 2025, Nagad reached a monthly transaction volume of BDT 34,000 crore, while in June 2024, the figure was BDT 32,000 crore.

Altogether, these achievements underscore Nagad’s pivotal role in taking Bangladesh’s overall digital transaction landscape to new heights.

The disbursements of government allowances played a crucial part in this record-breaking performance. Mentionable, last month, the Department of Social Services and the Department of Women Affairs disbursed allowances among 79 lakh beneficiaries through Nagad. Besides, cash-in, cash-out, send money, payment, and mobile recharges have added to such substantial transaction volume.

The combined effect of these activities led to the new record, further solidifying Nagad’s position as the most preferred mobile financial operator among customers.

Congratulating all customers, employees, entrepreneurs, and partners on achieving this new milestone, Nagad Administrator Md. Motasem Billah said, ‘Success never comes by chance; rather, it is the outcome of collective effort and dedication. When everyone works together with a shared vision and values, striving for excellence becomes much easier.’

Md Motasem Billah also said, ‘As the digital financial service of the Bangladesh Postal Department, Nagad continues to move forward with improved services and stronger assurances for customers’ money. Customer confidence in the current management board has grown markedly compared to previous years, resulting in a sustained increase in transactions.’

During this record-breaking month, Nagad also saw its highest single-day transactions on 15 October, when customers carried out transactions amounting to BDT 1,645 crore.

With continuous innovation and customer-centric services since its launch as a Bangladesh Postal Department’s digital service, Nagad’s customer base has continued to grow rapidly. Even today, a significant number of new users are joining Nagad every day through its mobile app.
