Former Bangladesh Cricket Board president Faruque Ahmed on Sunday filed a writ petition with the High Court challenging the legality of his removal from the post by the National Sports Council.
The petition also challenged the legality of NSC鈥檚 decision to appoint a former national captain, Aminul Islam Bulbul, as the new BCB president.
The hearing of the petition is likely to be held on Monday, Faruque鈥檚 counsel Ruhul Quddus Kazal told the media, without disclosing the details of the writ petition.聽聽
Bulbul was elected BCB president on Friday, a day after the NSC revoked Faruque鈥檚 directorship following a vote of no confidence from the majority of the board鈥檚 directors and a review of the Bangladesh Premier League fact-finding committee鈥檚 report.
With this, Bulbul became the 16th president of the BCB and only the second former cricketer, after Faruque, to assume the role.
