Two women crushed under train in Nilphamari and Lalmonirhat on Saturday.
Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha reported that a 50-year-old woman was killed as a train ran over her in Kadikhol-Dhelapir area under Saidpur in Nilphamari.聽
The deceased was Monifa Begum, wife of Muzaffar Hossain of Laxmanpur village under Bangalipur union in the upazila.
On information, the police went to the scene and recovered the body from the railway tracks.
Family sources said that Monifa Begum had been suffering from mental illness for a long time. She often left the house without informing anyone. She left the house around 7:30am on Friday and did not return.
Mahmud Un Nabi, officer-in-charge of Saidpur Railway police, confirmed the matter.
The United News of Bangladesh reported that a 54-year-old woman with hearing disabilities was crushed under the wheels of a train at Burimari under Hatibandha in Lalmonirhat.
The deceased was Janiron Begum, wife of Osman Goni of Singimari union.
Quoting witnesses, Mahmudur Nabi, officer-in-charge of Hatibandha police, said that the woman crushed under the wheels of the Parbatipur-bound local train from Burimari. 鈥楽he died on the spot.鈥�
The police recovered the body and sent it to the hospital morgue.
