The Bangladesh Army on Sunday morning conducted a special drive at the Airport Railway Station in the capital and seized foreign firearms and explosives, said a press release issued by the Inter Services Public Relations.

Based on specific intelligence, the army led the drive with the assistance of intelligence agencies and the Railway Police and seized eight foreign-made pistols, 16 firearm magazines, 26 rounds of ammunition, 2.39 kilograms of gunpowder and 2.23kg plastic explosives during a search in a specific compartment of the Bonolota Express train, which came from Rajshahi.


Four individuals suspected of involvement in acquiring the arms and ammunition were handed over to the police for preliminary interrogation, said the ISPR release.
