 
                             The police on Saturday night arrested a teenage boy over the explosion of a crude bomb in front of the Bangladesh Election Commission headquarters at Agargaon in Dhaka city.
Sher-e Bangla Nagar police inspector (investigation) Md Mehedi Hasan on Sunday morning said that three people riding a motorcycle exploded a ‘cocktail-like object’(crude bomb) in front of the EC building after 11:00pm on Saturday.
A police patrol team chased them and arrested the boy aged around 15 from the spot, he said.
The arrestee had come out with some important information during primary interrogation, the police official said, adding that a drive was launched to arrest the others involved in the incident.
Sher-e Bangla Nagar police officer-in-charge Imaul Haque on Sunday afternoon said that the police filed a case over the incident and other legal proceedings were under way.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police deputy commissioner for Tejgaon division Md Ibne Mizan visited the spot on Saturday night and said, ‘There is nothing to be worried about. Detailed information will be available after investigation. It will be investigated whether it is sabotage or someone is trying to create an unstable situation.’
No one was injured in the incident.
Security measures have been beefed up in the area, according to the police.
