Bangladesh interim government on Thursday extended the tenure of the National Consensus Commission (NCC) until October 31.

A gazette notification signed by cabinet secretary Sheikh Abdul Rashid stated that the extension order took effect immediately upon issuance.

Formally beginning its work on February 15, the commission has now received its third extension.

During this period, the commission held three rounds of dialogues with more than 30 political parties and formulated the July National Charter 2025.

The July Charter is expected to be signed by political parties on Friday.
