The police recovered the bodies of three unidentified people, including a woman, from different places in the Shahbagh area in the capital Thursday night.
The bodies were recovered between 9:30pm and 12:00 at night, Shahbagh police station officer-in-charge Khalid Mansur said on Friday.
He said that all the deceased used to live on footpaths and that they were trying to identify them.
The police said that they found the woman, 55, unconscious beside the street of Dhaka University’s central mosque at about 9:30pm on Thursday and rushed her to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
After a while, the police rescued another unconscious man, aged about 40, from the footpath near the National Eidgah at about 10:00pm and took him to the DMCH, where doctors declared him dead.
The police found another man, aged about 40, unconscious at the Central Shaheed Minar and took him to the DMCH, where doctors declared him dead at about 12:00 at night, the police said.
OC Khalid Mansur said that they found no injury marks on the bodies.
The bodies were kept at the DMCH morgue for autopsy to determine the causes of their deaths, he said.
He said that three unnatural death cases were filed with the Shahbagh police station in connection with the incidents.
