
The Institute of Research and Training at Southeast University organised a seminar titled The Need for Rehabilitation as a Major Part of Disability Care at the university鈥檚 Multipurpose Hall in Dhaka on Tuesday.
The programme was graced by the presence of humanitarian and founder and coordinator of CRP, Valerie A Taylor, said a press release.
Taylor, whose lifelong dedication to the cause of disability care has transformed countless lives in Bangladesh, emphasised that CRP was quite eager to collaborate with university academics and students to create new and low-cost technology to benefit more people with disability.
The event was presided over by Professor Yusuf Mahbubul Islam, vice-chancellor of SEU; and moderated by Hasnat M Alamgir, director, IRT, who highlighted the role of research and academic initiatives in advancing disability care and rehabilitation practices in Bangladesh.
SEU deans, heads of departments, faculty members, officials, and students were present at the seminar.
The discussions underscored the need for greater awareness, policy support, and institutional collaboration to promote rehabilitation as a vital part of disability care.
