
The Bangladesh Tennis Federation (BTF) on Tuesday expressed deep sorrow and condolences following the tragic plane crash on Monday in the capital’s Uttara area, which claimed the lives of 31 people and left many others injured, most of whom were students.
A Bangladesh Air Force training jet crashed onto the premises of Milestone School and College, triggering a catastrophic incident during school hours.
In a statement signed by the federation's general secretary, Ishtiaq Ahmed, the BTF described the incident as ‘undoubtedly a heart-wrenching and deeply mournful tragedy.’
The crash, which took place while classes were in session, resulted in the death of several young students and injuries to many others.
The executive committee of the BTF, along with all sub-committees, players, officials, and guardians, extended their heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved families.
‘We share in the grief of the nation and stand beside the victims’ families during this critical time,’ the statement read.
The Federation also prayed for the salvation of the departed souls, a swift recovery for the injured, and called for strength and patience for all those affected.
