Rotary International Bangladesh announced the beginning of Rotary year organising a press conference on Monday, says a press release.
Rotary International Bangladesh country coordinator and former governor Istiak Zaman has called for establishing world peace by avoiding the path of war at the press conference organised at the National Press Club in Dhaka.
The programme was chaired by Rotarian Abul Khair Chowdhury and was also addressed by former governor Shamsul Huda, Mahmudul Hasan, Omar Sharif, Lubna Afroz and others.
Zaman said that Rotary is working for world peace. Rotarians are risking their lives to carry out humanitarian activities in war and conflict areas. In addition, Rotary is working all over the world, including Bangladesh, in the service of humanity.
Istiak Zaman announced the annual work programme of Rotary Bangladesh for 2025-26 at the press conference. These programmes included health, education, training and employment of the unemployed, provision of clean water and others.
