A Turkish Airlines flight made an emergency landing at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Tuesday morning as the flight鈥檚 right side engine faced a bird hit minutes after its takeoff from the airport.

The Turkey-bound flight TK-713 carrying 280 passengers took off from the HSIA at 7:09am on Tuesday and its right side engine catches fire moments after the flight departed, said a press release of the HSIA.


The release said that the pilot of the flight made an emergency landing safely at 8:01am.

It also said that all passengers were safe and they were shifted to a hotel and an alternative flight would be arranged for them to reach their destination.

HSIA executive director Group Captain SM Ragib Samad said that no damages and causalities were reported in the incident.

Asked about any damage to the runway for the emergency landing, Ragib said that everything was alright.

On May 16, a Biman Bangladesh Airlines aircraft safely landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital Dhaka without one of its wheels, as the wheel came off from the Dhaka-bound airliner shortly after it took off from the Cox鈥檚 Bazar airport.
