A special team of the Anti-Corruption Commission on Thursday detained Kutubuddin Sohel, secretary of the ward 4 under the zone 2 in the Dhaka South City Corporation, while he was allegedly receiving bribe.
ACC public relations officer Aktarul Islam told 抖阴精品 that the commission鈥檚 team caught Kutubuddin red-handed while receiving bribe from Md Saiful Islam, manager of Life Care Diagnostic Center located at East Basabo in the capital鈥檚 Sabujbagh.
The commission team in consultation with Saiful went to the DSCC office and detained Kutubuddin, he said, adding that the process of filing a case against the detainee was underway.
Earlier, Saiful submitted a written complaint to the ACC鈥檚 integrated district office in Dhaka-1.
According to his compliant, Life Care Diagnostic Center, an under-construction facility, needed an approval letter from the DSCC.
Although an application was submitted in this connection, Kutubuddin sought Tk聽10,000 as bribe even after visiting the spot and finding no errors there, it said.
Kutubuddin threatened the authorities of the diagnostic centre not to issue the approval letter unless they give him the money, said the complaint.
