
At least five people were killed in road accidents in Khulna, Chattogram and Dhaka city between Tuesday night and Wednesday. 聽 聽
Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha reported that three people were killed in a head-on collision between a motorcycle and an engine-run van at Shawrankhali intersection under Paikgachha of Khulna on Wednesday.
The deceased were van driver Ismail Gazi, resident of Sahapara village, and motorcycle riders Riad Gazi, of Batikhali village, and Mahbub Gain, of Garaikhali village of the upazila.
Paikgachha police station officer-in-charge Obaidur Rahman said that the accident took place on the Paikgachha-Khulna road around 10:00am, leaving three people dead on the spot.
The bodies were sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital morgue for postmortem examinations, the OC said.
The 抖阴精品 staff correspondent in Chattogram reported that a college student was killed in a train accident while crossing the rail line at Sholoshahar Station of Chattogram.
The deceased, Irfan, 19, a first year college student of CMP Police Line School, hailed from Fatikchari.
Railway police station office-in-charge SM Shahidul Islam said that Irfan was engrossed in his phone and was unaware of the approaching shuttle train.
The body was sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital morgue for a post-mortem examination. 聽
The United News of Bangladesh reported that an unidentified man was killed as a speeding covered van crashed into his motorbike from behind in the Jatrabari area of Dhaka on Tuesday night.
The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately. 聽
Jatrabari police station sub-inspector Saiful Islam said the victim was immediately taken to the emergency unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital where physicians declared him dead.
The driver of the van was detained and the vehicle was also seized, he added.
