Bangladesh Medical University on Tuesday provided free treatment and diagnostic tests to over 3,000 patients at the BMU in Dhaka.

To mark the anniversary of the July uprising, the BMU also held various programmes, including providing diagnostic services, including X-ray, ultrasonogram, CBC, RBS and serum creatinine free of cost, said a press release.


Specialist physicians also offered free consultations at BMU鈥檚 Outdoor-1 and Outdoor-2.

While visiting the programme, BMU vice-chancellor Professor Dr Md Shahinul Alam said that July uprising symbolised the call for establishing a discrimination-free state.

He also mentioned that the commitment on this day was to establish the BMU as a globally recognised institution.

Pro-VC for administration Professor Dr Md Abul Kalam Azad, treasurer Professor Dr Nahrin Akhter and BMU director for hospital Brigadier General Abu Noman Mohammad Mosleh Uddin, among others, were present at the programme.
