
Independent University, Bangladesh has recently signed a memorandum of understanding with Far Western University in Nepal, aiming to strengthen academic cooperation and facilitate joint initiatives in research, education and student engagement.
The five-year MoU was signed between IUB vice-chancellor Professor M Tamim and FWU vice-chancellor Professor Hem Raj Pant in Kathmandu, Nepal on June 23, said a press release on Tuesday.
Representing IUB at the signing along with the VC was Kamran ul Baset, dean of the school of pharmacy and public health, and Professor Md Hafizur Rahman, head of the department of environmental science and management.
The agreement outlines a broad framework for collaboration, including student mobility programmes such as semester abroad, articulation and internships, as well as faculty and staff exchanges.
It also opens up opportunities for joint supervision of postgraduate research, co-hosting academic events and co-publication of scholarly work.
The two institutions have also agreed to promote awareness of each other鈥檚 academic programmes and explore cultural exchanges to foster mutual understanding.
