American International University–Bangladesh held a seminar titled ‘Prospects of bioequivalence studies in the pharmaceutical industry of Bangladesh’ on its campus in Dhaka on Thursday.

AIUB’s pharmacy department, and health and life sciences faculty, jointly organised the event, said a press release.


The welcome address was delivered by Professor Md Siddiqul Islam, head, department of pharmacy, AIUB, and the keynote speech by Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, general manager, Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd.

Wasim Haider, senior manager, Beximco Pharmaceuticals Ltd, discussed the operational and regulatory challenges faced by the industry in conducting bioequivalence studies.

Professor Abu Syed Md Mosaddek, head of the department of pharmacology, Uttara Adhunik Medical College, and CEO of QUEST Bangladesh Biomedical Research Centre, spoke about the research landscape in Bangladesh, opportunities for expanding bioequivalence studies.

Professor Md Abdur Rahman, pro-vice-chancellor of AIUB, delivered the closing remarks.
