Miscreants set fire to the signboard of Grameen Bank at Khetupara branch of Santhia upazila in Pabna on Sunday night.
A video of the incident has already gone viral on social media. Anisur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Santhia police station, confirmed that the miscreants poured petrol on the bank branch late on Sunday night.
Local residents said that five to six people were heard shouting Joy Bangla slogan at about 2:00 to 2:30 am and after some time the bank was on fire.
Anisur said that they have visited the scene and no written complaint has been filed by the bank yet but they are investigating the matter.
