Bangladesh thrashed Brunei 8-0 to go on top of the Group A table with their second consecutive win in the AFC Under-17 Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers at the Yongchuan Sports Centre Stadium in Chongqing, China, on Monday.
Bangladesh earned six points from two games to top the six-team table, as they earlier defeated Timor-Leste 5-0 in their first match at the Tonglianglong Stadium on Saturday.听
Against Brunei, forwards Opu Rahman and Rifat Kazi each scored a brace, while midfielder and captain Nazmul Huda Faysal, forward Md Manik, midfielder Md Arif and super-sub midfielder Bayzit Bostami scored once each.
Bangladesh scored four goals in either half of the game, with Opu opening the scoreline in the 12th minute, utilising a pass from Faysal.
Rifat doubled the lead in the 23rd minute before Faysal and Manik added one each within a span of one minute in the 36th and 37th minutes, respectively, before the break.
After the interval, Bangladesh continued their domination as Opu (50th) and Rifat (74th) completed their brace, while Arif (76th) and Bayzit (79th) extended the winning margin for their side.
Golam Robbani Choton鈥檚 charges, Bangladesh, will play the next game against Sri Lanka at the Tonglianglong Stadium on Wednesday before facing Bahrain at the YSCS on November 28 and hosts China at the TS on November 30.
