A total of 135 companies and 300 global brands from 25 countries, including Bangladesh, will attend the fourth edition of Ceramic Expo Bangladesh 2025, starting on November 27.

The three-day expo would continue till November 29 at the capital’s International Convention City Bashundhara, with more than 500 international delegates and buyers in attendance.

Bangladesh Ceramic Manufacturers and Exporters Association, organiser of the expo, held a press conference in the capital on Sunday regarding one of Asia’s largest and most influential international ceramic trade exhibitions.

BCMEA president Moynul Islam said that the expo would bring together leading ceramic manufacturers, technology innovators, raw material suppliers, and buyers from around the world.

The exhibition would feature three technical seminars, a job fair, extensive B2B and B2C meetings, live product demonstrations, spot-order opportunities, raffle draws, attractive giveaways, and the launch of new ceramic technologies and products.

BCMEA president Moynul Islam said the ceramic industry has witnessed exponential growth over the past decade, with more than 70 ceramic tableware, tile, and sanitary ware factories currently operating in Bangladesh.

‘These are serving a domestic market valued at Tk 8,000 crore annually and production and investment have increased by nearly 150 per cent over the last ten years,’ he added.

He also said that Bangladesh now exports ceramic products to over 50 countries, generating nearly Tk 500 crore in annual export earnings.

‘The total investment in the industry exceeded Tk 18,000 crore, and the sector provides direct and indirect employment to about 5,00,000 people,’ he added.

Global ceramic manufacturing powerhouses, including China and India, showed their interest in investing in Bangladesh due to its competitive cost structure and rising export footprint, he said.

Expo committee chairman Irfan Uddin said that Bangladeshi ceramic products have been gaining global recognition for their quality, durability, and modern design.

‘New international markets are emerging as demand rises, and the expo will highlight next-generation ceramic technologies,’ he added, saying that automation, advanced digital printing, robotic handling, and upgraded production lines will shape the future of Bangladesh›s ceramic industry.

Smart tiles and sensor-integrated ceramic products, already popular worldwide, are expected to influence the domestic market soon, he added, noting that the expo would help the manufacturers connect with these emerging technologies.

The exhibition will remain open free of entry fee from 10:00am to 6:00pm every day and is expected to draw a large number of buyers, suppliers, industry stakeholders, and visitors.

Vice-presidents and directors of the BCMEA, industry leaders, and representatives from the various brands and companies were also present at the press conference.
