A young man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of his house at Fakirapool at Motijheel in Dhaka early Saturday.
The deceased was Mizanur Rahman, 26, son of Ebadullah Rahman of Chandan Pat village under Aditmari in Lalmonirhat.
Md Faruk, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, said that Mizanur along with his wife聽used to live in the Fakirapool area.
Shahida Begum, widow of Mizanur, said that her husband was a drug addict and used to torture her for money.
On Friday, he demanded money from Shahida but she refused to give money.
Around 5:00am, Shahida found her room locked from inside. Later she called a neighbour and broke the door of the room.
She found her husband hanging from the ceiling of the room and informed the police who recovered the body.
