A new organisation, JSD Oikya Bastabayan Mancha, was launched on Saturday at a meeting in the National Press Club to unify all the factions of the Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal.

A 46-member central convening committee was announced with physician Mahfuzur Rahman as the convener and Farah Khan, a nephew of JSD founder and late political thinker Serajul Alam khan, as the member secretary at the programme.聽


The members included MA Awal, central leader Jatiya Samajtantrik Dl-JSD, Abdus Salam, central leader JSD, Wajed Sarker, central leader JSD, Abdul Malek Sarker, central leader Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal-Jasod, Khaled Hossain, central leader Jasod, Ahmed Fazlul Rahman Murad, central leader Bangladesh Jasod, Moshiur Rahman, former JSD leader, Fakhrul Alam Khan, eldest brother and Ferdaus Alam Khan, youngest brother of Serajul Alam Khan and others.

Mahfuzur Rahman said in the programme that they had taken initiative for unification of the JSD factions and they had no motive to form another party faction.

Farah Khan called on all the leaders to take initiatives for the unification to form a single party to build a discrimination free Bangladesh where political ideologies of Serajul Alam Khan would be implemented.

A good number of leaders and activists of existing three JSD factions and former party leaders attended the programme.聽

Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal was established on October 31 in 1972 but it has experienced several ideological splits since its formation.
