A minor earthquake was recorded in Narsingdi on Saturday morning for the second consecutive day as a moderate earthquake jolted Dhaka and elsewhere across Bangladesh on Friday.
At 10:36am on Saturday, just after 24 hours of the moderate earthquake, a 3.3 magnitude earthquake originated at Palash thana in Narsingdi.
Confirming the news, Bangladesh Meteorological Department meteorologist Tariful Newaz Kabir said that the place was 29 kilometres north-west of Dhaka city.
The meteorologist said that soon after the earthquake, due to wrong analysis the place where the earthquake struck was recorded Baipail area in Ashulia under Savar.
Later the place was identified as Palash thana in Narsingdi, he added.
Earlier, on Friday, a 5.7 magnitude earthquake struck at 10:38am in Narsingdi that jolted the entire country and claimed at least 10 lives and injured many more.
