Cultural troupe Kranti Shilpigoshthi organised an event titled Haimantik Sandhya at the Chhayanat Auditorium in Dhaka on Thursday.

Eminent cultural activist Nilufar Jahan Chinu presided over the programme, which was moderated by general secretary of Kranti Shilpigosthi Jharna Alamgir, said a press release.


President of the Gana Sangeet Samanway Parishad Mizanur Rahman Mizan and cultural activist Fakir Siraj, among others, were present as guests at the programme.

The programme featured group songs, recitations, dances and magic performed by cultural troupes Kranti Shilpigoshthi, Bahnishikha, Satyen Sen Shilpigosthi, Surtal, magic artiste Sadat Mamun and recitation artiste Masum Azizul Bashar.

Nilufar Jahan Chinu said, ‘Let culture be a tool for social change.’

Haimantik Sandhya is the continuation of the relentless work that Kranti Shilpi Gosthi has been doing for the development of culture for a long time, mentioned Nilufar Jahan, adding that the talent and creativity of the young artistes had added a new dimension to today’s performance.

Jharna Alamgir said, ‘Such an event is very important to make cultural practices regular. The combined efforts of artistes, audiences and organisers have made today’s evening special.’

Media personalities, cultural activists and audiences of all ages were present at the event.

Kranti Shilpi Gosthi is determined to enrich the country’s arts and culture by organising regular cultural programmes in the future.
