Bangladesh鈥檚 efforts to enhance value addition in its garment and textile sectors are set to gain significant momentum with the upcoming Techtextil and Texprocess 2026 fairs in Frankfurt.

As global demand increasingly shifts toward specialised, high-performance materials, these events provide a crucial platform for Bangladesh to explore new product categories, advanced technologies, and industry applications, said organisers at a press conference on Thursday.

The Messe Frankfurt press briefing, held at The Westin Dhaka, marked the official announcement of the 2026 editions of both fairs, scheduled for April 21-24, 2026. Messe Frankfurt is a global leader in textile trade shows.

Romana Afroze, head of operations for Messe Frankfurt SP Bangladesh, expressed optimism that a dedicated Bangladesh pavilion鈥攋ointly organised by the Export Promotion Bureau and the BGMEA鈥攚ould highlight leading companies in technical and value-added textiles, showcasing the country鈥檚 growing capabilities in high-value garment and textile production.

Afroze emphasised the strategic importance of these flagship fairs, noting that they continue to push the boundaries of innovation, sustainability, and technology adoption in the global textile and apparel industries.

The combined platform will allow visitors to explore the entire textile value chain鈥攆rom fiber production and advanced machinery to innovative fabrics, end-use applications, and recycling technologies. According to organisers, this exposure is particularly timely for Bangladesh, given the increasing demand for technical textiles in sectors such as healthcare, automotive, construction, and sports.

As Bangladesh seeks to transition from basic apparel manufacturing to more specialised, innovation-driven production, participation in these events will be key to creating new value-added opportunities and enhancing the country鈥檚 long-term competitiveness in the global textile market.
