Bangladesh Under-19 team has been grouped alongside former champions India in Group A of the U-19 Men鈥檚 Cricket World Cup 2026, as International Cricket Council announced the schedule on Wednesday.
The 16th edition of the tournament will be played in Namibia and Zimbabwe, starting on January 15.
Sixteen teams were divided into four groups for the group stage, which will be followed by the Super Six phase, where top three sides from each groups will be divided into two groups of six.
The knockout stage will follow, comprising two semi-finals and a final.
Bangladesh found themselves in the most difficult group of the tournament, alongside five-time champions India, the USA, and New Zealand.
Group B comprises of co-hosts Zimbabwe, Pakistan, England, and Scotland. Defending champions Australia, Ireland, Japan, and Sri Lanka are pitted in Group C.
While Group D features Tanzania, the West Indies, Afghanistan, and South Africa.
The sides are due to arrive on January 8 and will play warm-ups from January 9 to 14.
The junior Tigers will begin with a match against India, whom they defeated in 2020 to lift their maiden title.聽
Bangladesh will face New Zealand and the USA on January 20 and 23, respectively.
Harare Sports Club, Takashinga Sports Club (Harare), Queens Sports Club (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe), Namibia Cricket Ground (Windhoek, Namibia), and HP Oval (Windhoek) will host the event.
