Three workers suffered burn injuries after a fire broke out at a shoe factory at Bangshal in Dhaka early Monday.
The incident occurred around 1:40am at the factory located in Sikkatuli Mazar Goli under Bangshal.
The injured鈥� Ainuddin, 45, Amir Uddin, 40, and Ruman, 16 鈥攁re undergoing treatment at the Burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Ruman told reporters at the hospital that they were working in the night shift when the fire suddenly erupted from adhesive solution used in the factory.
鈥楾he flames spread very quickly. We were all burnt. We somehow managed to reach Dhaka Medical ourselves,鈥� he said.
Md Faruk, in-charge at the DMCH police outpost, said that the victims arrived at the emergency unit around 2:15am and were later admitted to the burn unit.
Ainuddin sustained 20 per cent of burns, Amir 10 per cent of burns and Ruman 45 per cent of burns, he added.
