A group of protesters along with two excavators gathered near Dhanmondi 32 on Monday afternoon to demolish the remaining portions of the house of Bangladesh's founding president Sheikh Mujibur Rahman amid verdict against Sheikh Hasina.
The protesters gathered in Dhanmondi 32 area at about 12:00pm, according to the police.
However, law enforcers charged batons and used sound grenades to disperse the protesters while they attempted to break through police barricades and move an excavator inside the road.
Later at about 2:00pm, the protestors again tried to gather in the area but the law enforcers again dispersed them.
A police official of the Dhanmondi zone said that protesters might be from surrounding colleges.
Law enforcers, including the army and the police members, were deployed at the scene.
Earlier, in February, more than half of the house at 32 Dhanmondi was demolished.
On August 5, 2024, following the fall of Sheikh Hasina鈥檚 government during the July mass uprising, the house at 32 Dhanmondi had been set on fire and burned down.
