Rajshahi鈥檚 Sunzamul Islam struck a century against Dhaka on the opening day of the fourth round of the National Cricket League at the Rajshahi Divisional Stadium on Saturday.
After opting to bat, Sunzamul scored 112 off 181 balls, including 13 boundaries, to propel Rajshahi to 275-9 with Abdur Rahman unbeaten on three and Wasi Siddique on one at stumps.
Left-arm spinner, Sunzamul came to bat early at number three after openers Sabbir Hossain (17) and Tanzid Hasan Tamim (seven) fell cheaply.
Rajshahi found themselves reeling at 24-3, when Sunzamul added 50 runs with skipper Towhid Hridoy (32) and 70 with Sabbir Rahman (47) to rescue his team.
Sunzamul was eventually dismissed by Salauddin Sakil, who took 3-48. However, Ashraful Islam was the pick of the bowlers for Dhaka with 4-71.
Mymensingh scored 271-8 against Chattogram at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Cricket Stadium in Chattogram.聽
Opting to bat, Mymensingh made a shaky start and were reduced to 85-4, but Aich Mollah鈥檚 65 and Suvagata Hom鈥檚 54 steadied their innings.
Arif Ahmed (36) and Maruf Mridha (22) shared a 58-run stand for the eighth wicket and remained unbeaten when the bails were drawn.
Chattogram off-spinner Nayeem Hasan took 3-77, while Irfan Hossain picked up 2-60.
Pacer Robiul Haque starred with a five-wicket haul as Rangpur bowled out Barishal for 196 at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra.聽
Robiul claimed 5-25 while Mukidul Islam Mugdho took 3-46. Nobin Islam and Rishad Hossain also chipped in with one wicket each.
Barishal鈥檚 Fazle Mahmud top-scored with 80 off 133 balls, supported by Salman Emon (27) and Shamsul Islam Anik (23).
In reply, Rangpur reached 43-2, with Nobin Islam and Naeem Islam unbeaten on 21 and six runs, respectively.
