Eastern Bank PLC recently organised an exclusive seminar titled ‘EBL Campus Connect: Inspiring New Generation in Banking’ at Independent University, Bangladesh.
The event brought together university students, academicians, and banking professionals to explore how young minds can contribute to innovative financial solutions and drive digital transformation in Bangladesh’s banking sector, said a press release.
Md Aminur Islam, senior lecturer and club coordinator of the IUB business club, delivered welcoming remarks emphasising the importance of financial awareness and the emerging career opportunities for students in the financial services industry.
Sarmin Atik, executive vice president and head of liability and wealth management at EBL, addressed the session, highlighting the bank’s ongoing initiatives to promote youth-oriented banking solutions and foster financial empowerment among students.
M Khorshed Anowar, deputy managing director and head of retail and SME banking at EBL, attended as Special
Guest and shared his insights on the future of banking and the transformative role of technology in shaping Bangladesh’s financial ecosystem.
The program also featured audiovisual presentations on EBL Corporate and Student Banking, showcasing the bank’s digital innovations and tailored services for students.
In his closing remarks, Daniel W Lund, pro-vice chancellor of IUB, praised EBL’s initiative for engaging students and promoting financial literacy through interactive, educational sessions.
EBL introduced ‘E-volve 2.0,’ an innovative financial literacy platform designed specifically for students at the seminar.
