Member of the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh Professor Masuma Habib at a programme at the UGC in Dhaka on Wednesday urged the university authorities to raise awareness about

the Erasmus Plus scholarship so that more Bangladeshi students could get benefit from the programme.


She made the call while addressing as chief guest at the Erasmus Plus Information Day programme at the UGC auditorium, said a press release. 

The programme aimed at expanding higher education, research and scholarship opportunities for Bangladeshi students at European universities.

Masuma Habib urged the EU delegation to further widen higher education opportunities for Bangladeshi students.

‘Through the Erasmus Plus scholarship, Bangladeshi students are getting the opportunity to enhance their capabilities, establish links with various universities in the EU, and test their talents in the global arena,’ she said, adding that Bangladeshi students ranked third globally among Erasmus Plus recipients.

UGC member Professor Mohammad Ayub Islam and deputy head of delegation of the EU in Bangladesh Baiba Zarina attended as special guests at the event, which was presided over by UGC international collaboration division director, current responsibilities, Jesmin Pervin.
