The government has appointed Md Abdus Salam Bapary, the chief engineer of Dhaka WASA, as the organisation鈥檚 managing director.
The notification issued by the Local Government Division on Tuesday was made public on Thursday stating that Md Abdus Salam will serve as the managing director of Dhaka WASA for three years with immediate effect.
On October 30, the previous managing director, Md Shahjahan Mia, who was also serving as the administrator of Dhaka South City Corporation, was withdrawn from both posts and transferred as an additional secretary to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.
