Two more members were added to the inquiry committee to investigate the sexual harassment allegations made by the former national women’s team captain Jahanara Alam, confirmed the Bangladesh Cricket Board on Wednesday. Â
The new members are Professor Dr Naima Huq, former chair of the Department of Law at the University of Dhaka and current member of the Law Commission, and Barrister Muhammed Mustafizur Rahman Khan, a senior advocate of the Supreme Court.Â
They will be joined by Retired Justice Tariq ul Hakim (convener) of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, BCB director Rubaba Dowla and a senior advocate of the Supreme Court, Barrister Sarwat Siraj Shukla.
Jahanara recently made those allegations in multiple interviews. Aminul Islam, the president of the BCB, then reiterated that they’d have a ‘zero tolerance’ policy against any misconduct.Â
The committee is supposed to submit their reports within 15 working days from last Saturday.
