Bangladesh Medical University and North South University signed a memorandum of understanding to advance joint research and development activities, including the use of AI technology, at the BMU in Dhaka on Monday.
BMU vice-chancellor Professor Dr Md Shahinul Alam and NSU vice-chancellor Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury signed the MoU, said a press release.
Also, BMU former dean of basic science and para clinical science Professor Dr Shirin Tarafdar, chairperson of the department of clinical oncology Professor Dr Syed Akram Hossain and dean of NSU Professor Sajjad Hossain and Professor Mohammad Monir Uddin signed the MoU.
This MoU will contribute to improved medical services and research activities through the use of advanced technology and AI.
It will also play a role in various areas, including ensuring accuracy in disease diagnosis, exchanging knowledge and skills in artificial intelligence, getting academic and technical support in creating and implementing AI models, and constantly innovating in disease diagnosis.
BMU pro-VC, research and development, Professor Dr Md Mujibur Rahman Howlader, presented a paper titled Bangladesh Medical University: Advancing Medical Education, Research and Healthcare Partnerships while Professor Mohammad Monir Uddin of North South University presented a paper titled Advanced Research on Biomedical Data for Precision Diagnosis Applying Multimodal-AI at the event.
Professor Shahinul Alam said, 鈥楾he administration of Bangladesh Medical University is making every effort to advance medical services, research and education programs in line with the developed world. In this era of advanced technology, the overall health sector, including medical science, must also be advanced in the same way.鈥�
