Grameen Danone Foods Limited has recently been awarded first runner-up in the Social Impact Project of the Year category at the Bangladesh Project Management Awards 2025 at a hotel in Dhaka.

Organised by the Bangladesh chapter of Project Management Institute, the ceremony celebrated organisations demonstrating excellence in project management and contributing to the country’s sustainable development, said a press release.

Grameen Danone earned this recognition for its transformative Milk for School Programme, implemented in partnership with Heifer International Korea and Heifer International Bangladesh.

The initiative, launched at Ullapara in Sirajganj, empowers local women dairy farmers by ensuring them a fair price for their milk through a milk chilling centre.

The collected milk is used to produce Shokti+ fortified yogurt, which is distributed free of cost to 2,245 schoolchildren in the community.

Through this initiative, Grameen Danone continues to promote women’s empowerment, child health and sustainable livelihoods while contributing to the UN sustainable development goals, particularly SDG 2, zero hunger; SDG 5, gender equality;, and SDG 17, partnerships for the goals.

Speaking on the achievement, Dipesh Nag, managing director of Grameen Danone Foods Limited, said, ‘We are honoured to receive this recognition from PMI Bangladesh. The Milk for School Programme reflects our commitment to building healthier communities through collaboration, innovation, and shared value creation.’
