Tanvir Islam took five wickets as the third-round fixture of the National Cricket League match between Barishal and Rajshahi was evenly poised after the end of the second day鈥檚 play at the Khulna Divisional Stadium on Sunday.
After Rajshahi took a 23-run lead in the first innings, Barishal were 22-1 at stumps with Zahiduzzaman Khan and Fazle Mahmud at the crease.
Starting the day on 6-0, Rajshahi kept losing wickets at regular intervals, with Pritom Kumar top-scoring with 65. However, they added 76 runs for the last two wickets as Ali Mohammad Walid remained unbeaten on 45.
Barishal captain Tanvir took 5-102 in 33.4 overs, while Yeasin Arafat took 3-33.聽
Mehedi Hasan took 4-55 for Chattogram, while Ziaur Rahman kept fighting as Khulna were trailing by 102 runs in the first innings at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Cricket Stadium in Chattogram.
Chattogram managed to add 11 runs with the remaining two wickets in the morning before Khulna were rocked early in the innings as they were 25-3 at one stage.
Soumya Sarkar then led Khulna鈥檚 fightback with an innings of 92 runs off 119 deliveries before Ziaur Rahman made 55. The latter remained unbeaten with Mehedi Hasan Rana at the other end.
Shohidul Islam鈥檚 79-run innings helped Mymensingh post 336 runs in the first innings against Dhaka at the Academy Ground of the Cox鈥檚 Bazar International Stadium.
Dhaka were 17-0 in 12.1 overs at stumps. With 100-2 on board at the beginning of the day, Mymensingh slipped to 237-8 before Shohidul came to rescue them. The pacer formed a 75-run partnership with Arif Ahmed, who made 31, for the 10th wicket.
Salauddin Shakil took 4-45 runs for Dhaka, while Nazmul Islam took two.
Abu Jayed took 4-36 to entice a collapse into the Rangpur innings as they made 187-8 in reply to Sylhet鈥檚 199 in the first innings at the Cox鈥檚 Bazar International Stadium.
Rangpur were 67-6 in the 22nd over before captain Tanbir Hayder (49) built a 49-run partnership with Abu Hashim (31) for the seventh wicket.
Tanbir then added 71 runs with Robiul Haque, who remained unbeaten on 27, for the eighth wicket to lift Rangpur from a precarious position.
