The Pakistan national hockey team arrived in Dhaka on Sunday to compete in a three-match series against hosts Bangladesh.
The winners of this series will secure a place in the FIH Men鈥檚 Hockey World Cup qualifiers, scheduled for February and March next year.
The matches will be held at the Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium on November 13, 14, and 16.
However, the series was initiated by the International Hockey Federation after Pakistan denied travelling to India for the Asia Cup in August-September due to the tense political situation between the two countries.
Under the FIH system, Pakistan were given the opportunity to play the series against the team that finished sixth in the AHF Men鈥檚 Hockey Asia Cup.
Bangladesh secured sixth place in the Asia Cup, which took place in India from 29 August to 7 September, leading to Pakistan鈥檚 visit to Dhaka.
Pakistan underwent their first session at the Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium later on Sunday.
