Azizul Hakim hit a century to help Bangladesh U-19 team to secure a narrow two-wicket win over their Afghanistan counterparts to tie the five-match Youth ODI series 2-2 at the Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi on Sunday.

Opting to bat first, Afghanistan posted 208-8 in the allotted overs while the host reached 211-8 in 45.5 overs, guided by skipper Azizul鈥檚 118-ball 100.

Azizul, who came to open the innings, saw his team slide to 87-4 until he formed a 54-run stand with Farid Hasan to steady their innings.

Farid鈥檚 dismissal led to another collapse, but Azizul remained composed and continued to add runs as his team-mates failed to find their feet against Afghan spinner Wahidullah Zadran, who finished with 4-25.

Azizul smashed seven fours and three sixes in his match-winning knock while Rizan Hossan (27) and Farid (23) played brief knocks.

Apart from Wahidullah, Uzairullah Niazai (2-41) and Salam Khan (2-39) took two wickets apiece for the visitors.

Earlier, Afghanistan made a shaky start but Osman Sadat鈥檚 68 off 106, with seven fours helped them to reach the 200-mark.

Uzairullah and Mahboob Khan contributed 32 and 40 runs, respectively, in the middle.

Samiun Basir was the pick of the Bangladesh bowlers with 2-33 while Shahriar, Saad Islam and Shahria Al-Amin each took a wicket.
