A woman was killed and two others were injured in a collision between a bus and an autorickshaw in Harinakundu upazila of Jhenaidah district on Sunday morning.
The deceased was identified as Sohagi Khatun, 46, wife of Ummad Ali of village Shakharidah under the same upazila.
Shahidul Islam Hawladar, officer-in-charge of Harinakundu Police Station said that the accident took place at about 8:00am when the Dhaka-bound bus rammed into the autorickshaw from the opposite direction at village Kapashhatia, leaving the woman dead on the spot and the duo was injured.
The injured were sent to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital, he said, adding that the body was kept at the hospital morgue for post-mortem examinations.
He could not ascertain the identities of the injured immediately.
