National University estate department director Md Rafiqul Islam died while undergoing treatment in the East West Medical College and Hospital in Dhaka on Friday.
He was about 58. His namaz-e-janaza was held on the National University campus at 09:00am on Saturday, said a press release.
He is survived by his widow and three daughters.
NU vice-chancellor Professor ASM Amanullah expressed deep shock at the death of Rafiqul Islam. In a condolence message, he prayed for the peace of the departed soul and expressed his condolences to the bereaved family members.
