Shamima Sultana smashed an unbeaten 87 off 64 as Sylhet made a flying start in the Women鈥檚 National Cricket League T20 by defeating Mymensingh by 18 runs at the BKSP Ground-3 in Savar on Saturday.
Sylhet scored 138-1, with Shamima hitting six fours and five sixes, while Sharmin Supta scored a 40-ball 35. In reply, Mymensingh struggled early and reached 120-7.
Off-spinner Jannatul Ferdus Sumona took 3- 23.
In the afternoon match at the same venue, Farzana Haque鈥檚 49 and Sadia Akter鈥檚 unbeaten 38 helped Barishal to a five-wicket win against Khulna聽
Opting to bat, Dilara Dola hit 78 off 44, laced with seven fours and five sixes, as Khulna posted 141-8 against Barishal. In reply, Barishal reached the target with nine deliveries to spare.
Rangpur beat Rajshahi by 11 runs in a low-scoring affair at BKSP Ground-4.
Despite number three Sobhana Mostary鈥檚 unbeaten 45-ball 51, Rangpur struggled to 98-8 in 20 overs, with Boby Khatun taking 3-12.聽
Rajshahi鈥檚 response was poor as opener Sarmin Sultana could not capitalise on a start, falling for 25 and Sumaiya Akter 18 as Rajshahi managed to reach 87-6.聽
Medium-pacer Shorifa Khatun took 2-14 for Rangpur.
At the same ground, Chattogram defeated Dhaka by 20 runs. Aka Mollik鈥檚 14 and Taj Nehar鈥檚 21 helped Chattogram to 81-6.
In reply, Dhaka managed just 61-9 after Murshida Khatun鈥檚 17 and Farzana Yeasmin鈥檚 15. Maharun Nesa claimed 3-5 while skipper Fahima Khatun took 2-7.
