A meeting on the importance, potential and strategy of peaceful application of nuclear energy and technology for socio-economic development of the country was held at the head office of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission in Dhaka on Wednesday.
Ministry of Science and Technology secretary Md Anwar Hossain, chairman of the BAEC Md Mazibur Rahman and physical science member Debashish Pal and former chairmen and members of the commission attended the meeting, said a press release.
Eminent nuclear scientists of the country expressed important opinions on the potential and strategy of peaceful application of nuclear energy and technology for socio-economic development of the country and held a guiding discussion on determining the future nuclear strategy and policy of the country.
Anwar Hossain assured the exchange of views of the meeting for the promotion of nuclear technology for public welfare in the country and for the formulation of a sustainable nuclear strategy and policy.
BAEC chairman expressed his gratitude to all concerned for engaging the discussion and providing guidance in determining the strategy for using nuclear technology for the socio-economic development of the country.
