The Bangladesh Society for the Change and Advocacy Nexus (B-SCAN) organised its 16th annual general meeting at the Siraj Convention Center, Aftabnagar, Dhaka on Saturday, says a press release.

During the meeting, the organisation presented its ongoing activities and financial report, along with the proposed work plan and budget for the upcoming year for approval.


Special emphasis was placed on expanding future activities, enhancing the skills and employment opportunities of persons with disabilities, and strengthening B-SCAN’s role in promoting and protecting their rights.

Presiding over the meeting, General Secretary Salma Mahbub said, ‘Since its inception, B-SCAN has been working collectively to build an inclusive and equitable society. Our main objective is to ensure the leadership and participation of persons with disabilities by harnessing their potential.’

Treasurer Md Abdul Hannan, public relations secretary Nigar Sultana and executive member A M Riyad were also present at the meeting.

Earlier in the morning, with the support of Sightsavers under the ‘Equal Bangladesh Campaign’, a safeguarding training was organised for members, volunteers, and staff. The session aimed to strengthen a safe working environment, accountability, and the effective implementation of safeguarding policies within B-SCAN.

The training was conducted by Mahfuzur Rahman Raqeev, coordinator of B-SCAN. Iftekhar Mahmud, director of B-SCAN was also present at the training.
