Leaders of the Ganatantra Mancha, a combine of six political parties, on Tuesday urged the interim government to play a key role in implementing the July National Charter 2025, which was handed over to the chief adviser on October 28.
They made the demand at a press conference at the central office of the Bangladesh Rashtra Sanskar Andolan on Topkhana Road in the capital.
Ganatantra Mancha coordinator and Rashtra Sanskar Andolan president Hasnat Quaiyum at the press conference alleged that the National Consensus Commission had created problems in the implementation of the charter.
The NCC should take initiatives to implement the charter and interim government should play a key role in implementing it, he said.
The government should take immediate initiatives to hold discussions with the political parties so that the next general election can be held in February without any delay, Hasnat Quaiyum said.
Revolutionary Workers Party of Bangladesh general secretary Saiful Huq, Ganosamhati Andolan chief coordinator Zonayed Saki, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal-JSD senior vice president Tania Rob, Nagarik Oikya general secretary Shahidulla Kaisar and Bhashani Janashakti聽
Party secretary general Abu Yusuf Selim, among others, attended the press conference.
