Akbar Ali will lead the Bangladesh ‘A’ team in the forthcoming Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025, formerly known as the Emerging Asia Cup, as the Bangladesh Cricket Board announced a 15-member squad on Tuesday.

The tournament is scheduled to be played between November 14 and 23, with all the matches scheduled to be held at The West End International Stadium in Doha, Qatar.


Bangladesh are slotted in Group A with defending champions Afghanistan, Hong Kong, and Sri Lanka, while Group B is comprised of India, Pakistan, Oman, and the UAE.Ìý

Bangladesh ‘A’ will begin the campeign against Hong Kong on November 15 before they take on their Afghan counterparts on November 17, while the fixture against Sri Lanka is scheduled on November 19.Ìý

The ICC full member teams, including Bangladesh, will send their respective ‘A’ teams, while the associate teams Hong Kong, Oman, and the UAE will field their national teams.Ìý

The semi-finals will be played on November 21, before the final on November 23.

Bangladesh will also participate in the Hong Kong Sixes, scheduled to be held from November 7 to 9, prior to the event in Qatar.
