An elderly man was hacked to death allegedly by his drug addict son in Puran Bhadurdangi village under Sadar upazila in Pabna Sunday night.
The deceased is Nizam Pramanik, 60, of the village and came under attack when he had been praying.
The victim鈥檚 family members said that Mostafa Pramanik, 28, the youngest son of Nizam, entered the victim鈥檚 room at about 8:30pm on Sunday, hacked him indiscriminately, and entered another room and locked the door from inside.
As other members rushed to the victim鈥檚 room, they found him dead in a pool of blood, they said.
