The Centre for Sustainable Development at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh concluded the three-day 7th CSD annual conference on sustainable development 2025 at the Six Seasons Hotel in Dhaka on Monday.
The theme of the conference was ‘unpacking sustainability, resilience and equity’, bringing together national and international experts, policymakers and researchers to explore transformative solutions for a sustainable future, said a press release.
Fisheries and livestock adviser Farida Akhter inaugurated the conference as chief guest, with Professor Imran Rahman, vice-chancellor of ULAB, announcing the launch of ULAB’s new department of environmental science and sustainability.
Over three days, discussions focused on climate resilience, water governance, blue carbon ecosystems and green skills development, featuring speakers from Bangladesh, India, Canada, Malaysia and Indonesia.
Participants emphasised inclusive policies, community engagement and the integration of sustainability education into national curricula.
