Sika Bangladesh Limited, a Switzerland based company, has opened its factory at Meghna Industrial Economic Zone in Narayanganj, said a press release.

Swiss ambassador to Bangladesh Reto Renggli was present as chief guest.


Meghna Group of Industries chairman and managing director Mostafa Kamal was present as a special guest.

Sika Bangladesh country head Sanjiban Roy Nadi said, ‘Bangladesh construction chemical market size is more than $100 million. Sika has invested approximately 5.19mCHF in Bangladesh to establish this production facility.’

He added, ‘This new facility has built in 8094sqm of land, having two production lines. This facility will enhance the supply chain efficiency in the local market. The localisation will expand our potential and product portfolio across Bangladesh and generate local employment opportunities. The company has launched a new high performance tile adhesive product for Bangladesh market. This value added product will enhance durability and bond strength compared to the conventional mortar.’

Sika is a Switzerland based specialty chemicals company with a leading position in the development and production of systems and products for bonding, sealing, damping, reinforcing and protecting in the building sector and motor vehicle industry.

Sika has subsidiaries in more than 100 countries around the world and manufactures in over 400 factories with more than 34,000 employees, the release said.
