Courier service provider, Sundarban Courier Service (Pvt.) Ltd, celebrated its 43rd founding anniversary with a daylong series of programmes at its corporate headquarters in Uttara, Dhaka, says a press release.

The celebration featured a discussion session, special prayers, and a ceremonial cake-cutting, marking more than four decades of excellence in courier and logistics services across Bangladesh.


The day began with a visit to the grave of the company’s founder and freedom fighter, the late Md Imamul Kabir Shanto, where floral tributes were offered and prayers were held jointly by the Shanto-Mariam Foundation and Sundarban Courier Service (Pvt.) Ltd.

Saleh Uddin Newaz Joy director (Maintenance); Fazle Haque director (Operations); senior executives and employees of the organisation also attended the ceremony.

Special guests included artist Professor Mostafizul Haque, chairman of the Board of Trustees, Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology, and Par Mashior Rahman, Registrar of the university.

Founded in 1983 by freedom fighter Md Imamul Kabir Shanto, Sundarban Courier Service (Pvt.) Ltd. began its journey with the vision of delivering fast, secure, and dependable postal and parcel services to every doorstep across Bangladesh.

Shanto not only laid the foundation of the nation’s courier industry but also played a pioneering role in shaping government policy and establishing a licensing authority for the sector.

Under his initiative, the Courier Services Association of Bangladesh (CSAB) was formed — an organisation that continues to work towards the growth and standardisation of the country’s courier industry.
